Battles Are Your Bridge

Battles Are Your Bridge!  What do I mean by that?  Simple, every battle you are facing right now is a bridge of connection from where you are to where you are going.  God does not allow these battles to come just to irritate you, hurt you or frustrate you.  The truth is HE LOVES YOU!  He loves you so much that He wants you to have every blessing He has promised you...even more than you want it.  Just like our own children, as parents we want the very best for our children, sometimes more than they even want it.

All through scriptures we see where God allowed the battles to come as a bridge to promote His children.  One of my favorites is David in 1 Samuel 17. David was facing a GIANT BATTLE literally!  With what he had in his hand...a simple slingshot, he defeated his enemy, Goliath.  That giant battle was the bridge that eventually led him from being a Sheppard boy to being King.

Think about Joseph in Genesis 37-41. He overcame the hatred of his brothers, the pit, and the prison!  But those situations were the bridge that connected him to his destiny to become second in command only to Pharaoh, and that position later saved his entire family.  Just think about what you are walking through right now.  If you were allowed to see into the future and you knew that this battle would eventually save the life of your family you would probably handle it differently.  Now I am sure there were days of hatred, the pit and the prison that made Joseph stretch his faith more than he ever thought possible but I would be willing to bet the day that his brothers came back with his father and he was able to keep and sustain them through the famine he would do it all over again.

Today just stay focused one step at a time and realize THIS BATTLE IS A BRIDGE TO YOUR BLESSING!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

I have a confession to make......are you ready......My husband, Billy, is my second love!

Before you go start spreading rumors let me clarify.  God is my first love!  His love is so amazing!  There is no one else like him.  Sometimes I can't even express how I feel because I am so overwhelmed with His love, grace and mercy.  He gives me favor every where I go.  He comforts me through every storm.  He is my way maker when there seems to be no way.  He is my peace in the midst of turmoil.  He collects my tears in His bottle and keeps track of my sorrow (Psalm 56:8).  He literally is my light in darkness.  I can honestly say that I can't live without Him!!

All of that said, my second love, my husband Billy, is one of the GREATEST blessings my first love has ever given me!  I love him more now than I ever have.  With each passing year he continues to be my Rock.  He is all I ever expected in a husband and much more.  He spoils me a little rotten :) and adores me.  He is not only my husband but my Pastor. Even in the midst of crisis, pain and turmoil he continues to speak the Word and keeps me balanced.  I am so happy that God is allowing me to grow old with my BEST FRIEND!

With all my love.....Happy Valentine's Day!!

WOW!  It has been longer than I thought since my last post.  Isn't it amazing how time flies.  I am not promising a daily Blog but I am going to do my best to write more often.

My life has been a whirlwind of chaos and the greatness of God, heaviness and joy, nothingness and creativity, depression and hope. You say how can that be?  Because although I love God with all my being and I pray and study my word, I still have flesh, a big heart and I still live in this world.  I felt strongly to write this post today, I feel like somebody needs to hear it.

If you struggle with the issues of life bringing chaos, heaviness, nothingness and depression then welcome to Spiritual Warfare.  The life of a believer will inevitably go through these up and down seasons.  Don't believe me?  How do you answer Job, or Elijah or David, or Ezekiel...the list goes on.  All through out the Word we read how the very ones God chose to use went through these seasons.

I believe the Great Potter (Isaiah 64:8) of our life is working out some of the 'spots' in our lives so we can become ALL that He has purposed.  It is not ok to just have partial victory...Partial victory doesn't make history.  Instead of having a mediocre outcome God is doing exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us! (Ephesians 3:20) So, if you feel like you are spinning around on the potters wheel in a world-wind of being poked, stretched, pulled, flattened down and then remolded...your not alone.

But there is hope in our final outcome because:

We are God's [own] handiwork [His workmanship] recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined [planned beforehand] for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time, that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live.]
Ephesians 2:10

For I know that thoughts and plans that I have for you says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
Jeremiah 29:11

You have hope despite your circumstances, you have hope despite you feelings, you have hope because Your daddy God is not surprised at all by this present season but in the end He is working out ALL THINGS FOR THE GOOD OF OUR FINAL OUTCOME!
